Key Responsibilities
The SAP Specialist will be responsible for the SAP ERP system, including functional support and configuration, and will work closely with business unit and departmental leaders in developing long-term business application strategies, proposing and implementing business enabling processes and systems solutions, and managing, implementing and maintaining SAP, including:
- Leveraging knowledge of business processes, benchmarks, best practices, and current innovations in the IT marketplace to partner with business and department leaders and drive long-term planning and strategy.
- Partnering with business and departmental leaders to develop, implement and manage projects to balance the needs of the business, return on investment (ROI), supportability of selected technology, and practical fit.
- Implementing and managing SAP projects, including configuration and managing requirements definition, design, prototyping, testing, training, overall end-user change management, and the establishment of long-term system support.
- Providing direct support for their SAP ERP system, including configuration, assisting with end-user training, troubleshooting and acting as the primary coaching and mentoring resource for end-users.
- Ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other applicable regulations, laws, and industry best practices.
- Fostering a collaborative relationship with business partners and other IT functions.
Education, Experience and Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer or software engineering, information technology or a closely related field and a minimum of 5 years of SAP ERP experience is required; experience within an FDA-regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Project management experience in a highly technical industry is required. SAP implementation experience is preferred.
- Must be able to program SAP to resolve complex issues quickly, must have deep knowledge of SAP usability and configuration techniques, and be a creative problem-solver when SAP does not function as expected.
- Must be able to effectively manage SAP service providers to ensure prompt and effective solutions to problems and be able to train end-users.
- Experience supporting the following functions is required: quality, warehousing, manufacturing, supply chain and sales & distribution. Experience supporting finance, accounting and controlling functions is strongly preferred, but not required. Experience with the following functions is also preferred: maintenance, engineering, and purchasing.
- Knowledge of cGMPs and computer system validation is required.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills, as well as good written and oral communication skills.
- Must be proactive and enjoy working in a dynamic company environment with a focus on technical excellence, responsiveness to customers and innovative thinking.
- Although this position could be located in either King of Prussia or York, working from York at least 3 days per week will be required.
